AG Metal Industries is the first and only exclusive facility permitted outside of ALPOLIC’s direct ownership
Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates; 24 April 2024: Al Ghurair Investment (AGI), one of the largest diversified family business groups in the UAE, has announced the launch of an exclusive facility in Ras Al Khaimah to locally manufacture aluminium composite panels under ALPOLIC, a brand of Mitsubishi Chemical. On commencing production, AG Metal Industries (AGMI) will become the first facility of its kind outside of the ALPOLIC brand’s direct ownership.
Al Ghurair and Mitsubishi have had a long-standing relationship spanning over five decades, with Al Ghurair leading the exclusive distribution rights across the UAE for Mitsubishi products including MELCO Elevator and Heavy Industries Air Conditioning. Since 1993, AGI has also exclusively distributed ALPOLIC products, utilising a ‘sell and build’ approach to achieve a flawless track record of zero project failures.
In tandem with evolving market needs of the local and global construction industry, AGI and Mitsubishi have used the strength of their partnership to establish AGMI as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of ALPOLIC products, with global distribution rights.
The state-of-the-art facility will be built to exacting Mitsubishi Japan standards, annually producing 4 million square-metres of aluminium composite panels, 17,000 million tonnes of coated coils and one million square-metres of A2 Core. These fire-retardant materials solutions will be supplied to construction and infrastructure projects worldwide, contributing to the overall safety of residential, commercial and public spaces. Like other ALPOLIC facilities, this too has been built with the same safety and environmental standards in mind, prioritising quality and integrity throughout the manufacturing process.

The facility will serve global clientele, while contributing to the local economy by generating over xx jobs. Localising manufacturing is one of the key priorities of the UAE government, in line with scaling the industrial sector’s contribution to the economy.
