In a remarkable journey that began in 2000, Kabi, formerly known as Cars Taxi, has emerged as one of the largest taxi operators in the United Arab Emirates. The company, founded by Al Ghurair, marked its latest 25 year milestone with a celebration of its growth, innovation, and commitment to smart mobility.
What started with a modest fleet of just over 750 vehicles has now expanded to more than 4,200 taxis operating across the UAE, with an additional 600 vehicles to be added in 2025.
Kabi’s fleet currently transports approximately 150,000 passengers daily, completing over 110,000 journeys every day. These figures reflect not only operational scale but also the trust placed in the company by customers and partners.
The company’s transformation from Cars Taxi to Kabi was more than a rebranding exercise, it marked a strategic shift toward innovation and alignment with Al Ghurair’s broader purpose: In pursuit of better. This ethos is reflected in Kabi’s efforts to enhance the customer experience, including the launch of the Buddy’s app for drivers and the introduction of hybrid vehicles into its fleet.
Kabi has also strengthened its collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and other governing bodies, working toward national mobility goals and supporting the UAE’s vision for smart transportation.
